Bean and Bear Hiking Elopement

Updated: Apr 15, 2022

Silver Bay, Minnesota has one of the most breathtaking trails the Bean and Bear Lake Hiking Trail. This spot is stunning but is no easy trek. Before beginning the hike I gave Eric and Kayla a list of gear to pack ahead of time to be sure they had enough water bottles, proper shoes, and clothing to make it out into the backcountry of the North Shore. Having thru-hiked the entire Superior Hiking Trail, this spot stood out to me and many other hikers as a truly magical spot.

Overall the hike was 6.3 miles long and took about 3 hours. It is the perfect about of time to really get to immerse yourself in the forest of the north woods before saying "I do". We headed out and began hiking at around 2 pm and got back in the dark after sunset. The entire elopement day was absolutely incredible. These two private lakes are only reachable by trail meaning they are pristine and secluded. If you're looking for the most incredible place to elope in Minnesota, this is the spot!
